Over the past 12 months I have endeavoured to travel across the North West, attending different Pagan gatherings,meetings,rituals and events in order to experience a whole range of pathways and beliefs in order to look at what paganism is to many different people and to see what it brings to peoples lives. I have also used this process alongside social networking to make contacts within the community who may be interested in coming forward and taking part in the documentary or allowing us the opportunity to film various aspects of pagan life such as rituals,moots,gatherings,festivals and of course interviews. So far I have been relatively successful and have arranged interviewees, a film shoot at a local moot incorporating a meditation workshop, a fire-play performance,music from one of the highest regarded pagan folk musicians in the UK. the opportunity to film an open ritual and also filming access to a major pagan festival.
Speaking to several people has instilled in me the need for this documentary to be very organic in the making, apart from the interviews the filming is to be unscripted so as to show the reality of pagan practices and also as a matter of respect to be uninvasive to the people taking part.
